US Secretary of State John Kerry was sworn-in by Vice
President Joe Biden as the new Secretary of State. Kerry took over from
outgoing secretary Hillary Clinton.
John Kerry is the
68th Secretary of State of the United States. The Secretary carries out the
President's foreign policies through the State Department.
He served as a US Senator from Massachusetts from 1985 to
2013, and also was the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
