1) Japan successfully
tested its first stealth fighter jet
Japan successfully tested the maiden flight of its first
domestically developed stealth fighter
jet X-2.
With this Japan becomes fourth country in the world to have full-size
stealth combat aircraft. Other three countries having these are United States, Russia and China.
Stealth aircrafts are designed to avoid detection mainly by
using a variety of stealth technologies.
2) Radhika Apte won best actress award
Bollywood actress Radhika Apte bagged the best actress at Tribeca Film Festival 2016 for her
performance in anthology film Madly.
3) New Prime Minister
of Congo Appointed
Congo’s President Denis Sassou Nguesso has appointed Mouamba Clement as the new Prime Minister
of the central African country.
4) The Union
Government has launched India’s first online heritage portal named Sahapedia.
The web portal is a collaborative knowledge resource on the
arts, culture and heritage of India.
5) Union
Government constituted inter ministerial panel to double farmers’ income by
2022.
The panel will be headed by Ashok Dalwai, Additional
Secretary at the Union Agriculture Ministry.
The panel will prepare a plan to shift farm policies from
being production-oriented to income based ones.
6) Bollywood Actor Salman Khan named as Indian contingent’s Goodwill Ambassador for 2016 Rio Olympics.
He was chosen by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
