1)NABARD sanctioned a loan of 1000 crore rupees to Haryana
State Warehousing Corporation (HSWC) for purchase of wheat during the rabi
marketing season.
2) NOAPS web portal of
National Monuments Authority:
Union Tourism Ministry launched NOC Online Application and Processing
System (NOAPS) Web Portal of National Monuments Authority developed with the
technology and expertise of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to map 3686
ASI protected monuments and sites.
3) Heart of Asia conference:
The Heart of Asia (HoA) conference started on 26 April 2016 in New Delhi.
4) Price rise check in sugar:
To check the price rise in sugar and to reduce hoarding by wholesalers
and retailers, Union Cabinet decided to bring sugar under the
purview of stock holding limits on dealers by the state governments.
5) Jail term for chain
snatchers:
The Maharashtra government increased the Jail term for chain snatching up
to 5 years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of 25000 rupees.
6) 5% interest subsidy for
flood-hit traders:
Jammu and Kashmir government approved five percent interest subvention with
a cap of five lakh rupees per unit for a period of four years, that is, up to
31 December 2020 for flood-hit traders.
7) India may surpass China
in attracting FDI:
The Japanese financial services firm, Nomura announced that due to
ongoing reforms in India, India may surpass China in attracting Foreign Direct
Investment (FDI) in 2016, in terms of percentage of its GDP.
8) To implement Justice
RM Lodha committee recommendations, Gopal
Subramanium appointed as amicus
curiae.
