1) Odisha
CM inaugurates cheap meal centres:
Odisha
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated opening of 100 more Aahar centres
across the State as part of Government’s cheap meal programme for the poor.
2) Delhi bans chewable tobacco for one year:
The Delhi
government has banned for one year the sale, purchase and storage of all forms
of chewable tobacco, including guthka, pan masala etc. in the Capital.
3) National Agriculture Market:
On 125th birth
anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched
e-NAM, the e-trading platform for the National Agriculture Market for farmers.
In the initial stage
21 mandis in 8 states linked to e-NAM and 200 mandis will be linked by
September 2016 and 585 mandis by March 2018. Using this portal, the farmers can
sell or buy the agricultural products.
4) Phase 2 of odd-even scheme:
Delhi Government implemented
the second phase of odd-even car rationing scheme from 15 April 2016 in the capital
till 30 April 2016 from 8 AM to 8 PM, excluding Sundays.
Under the scheme
four-wheelers with odd registration numbers will ply on odd dates and those
with even numbers on even dates.
However, President, Vice President, Prime
Minister, Union Ministers and other VIPs have been exempted. Besides, vehicles
driven by women, emergency vehicles, CNG vehicles and cars carrying school
children in uniforms are also exempted.
It’s violation will have
a penalty of Rupees 2000.
5) Panagarh airbase renamed as Air Force Station Arjan
Singh:
Panagarh Air Force
Base of West Bengal was renamed as Air Force Station Arjan Singh as a rare
honour to the nation’s oldest soldier Marshal of Air Force Arjan Singh.
Marshal of the Air
Force Arjan Singh, 97, had led the Indian Air Force (IAF) in the 1965
India-Pakistan war.
