2) New Chairman of NASSCOM:
The National Association of Software and Services Companies
(NASSCOM) appoint Sh. CP Gurnani as its Chairman. He succeeded Sh. BVR Mohan
Reddy.

is a trade association of Indian IT and BPO industry.
3) New P.M. of Iceland : Sigurdur Ingi Johannsson named as
Iceland Prime Minister. He will succeed Sigmundur Gunnlaugsson.
4) Indian Open Badminton Championship:
Men’s singles : Kento Momota of Japan won men’s singles
title at the 2016 India Open badminton championship.
Women singles : Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon won the women’s
singles title by defeating Xuerui Li of China.
5) Asian Nations Cup Chess tournament:
Indian men won the 2016 Asian Nations Cup Chess tournament
with a 3-1 victory over Vietnam in the final round played in Abu Dhabi.
6) RBI cuts Repo rate and increases Reverse Repo rate: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released its first
Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy Statement 2016-17. The key announcements of the
policy are as follows:

Repo Rate: Reduced Repo rate by 25 basis points from 6.75
percent to 6.50 percent.
