Just after IIT Kanpur students were offered 1.33 crs by
Google, its time for BITS Pilani students to fetch hefty salary. The
multi-million dollar packages are back with network and services giant Google
hiring two BITS Pilani students for a Rs 1.44 crore annual package, which is
the highest Google has offered anyone in the country.
Thoppilan Romal Devassy and Kannan Sunder are the two lucky
students who are being roped by the Google on a mammoth package. Both
Mumbaikars are the students of BITS Pilani, studying in the seventh semester of
computer science branch. This has become one of the milestone of BITS Pilani,
as its two students offered a whopping $ 2,35000 annual package by Google.
There were seven technical rounds along with one written
test that were held in the campus. Five rounds of technical interviews related
to subject knowledge, which were conducted in Bangalore. More than 100 students appeared
for placement process. Apart from Google, Facebook also visited BITS and
offered three students.
"More than 100 companies have visited so far to recruit
from 327 undergraduate engineering (BE) students and 180 masters (ME) students
in the first semester. About 90% students have been placed," said chief
placement coordinator, Mani Shankar Dasgupta.
More than 100 students appeared in the interview that
consisted seven technical rounds including one written that took place in the
campus and five rounds of technical interviews related to subject knowledge,
which were conducted in Bangalore.
Networking giant Facebook also visited BITS for the third consecutive year and
shortlisted three students. Among the highest Indian placement offers made so
far are from LinkedIn and Goldman Sachs Strategies, where each offered above 28
lakhs per annum.
