Chairman of LIC
The government of India appointed S.K. Roy as the new
chairman of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
S.K. Roy will succeed D.K. Mehrotra, who retired in May.
S.K Roy, who is presently the Managing Director in the
organisation, would be succeeding D K Mehrotra, and is being appointed the
Chairman of LIC for a period of 5 years.
Total five candidates were interviewed by the Government of
India for the post of Chairman of LIC, which includes managing director
Sushobhan Sarkar, LIC Housing Finance MD & CEO V K Sharma as well as three
executive directors, S B Mainak, Roy and Usha Sangwan.
Roy
joined LIC in 1981 and has since held various positions. He was heading the
corporation’s international operations and was elected as managing director on
31st May 2013.
