Railways to hire 1.5 lakh workers: Railway Minister finally
decided to remove ban for filing up new vacancies in railway. Indian railways
is going to conduct fresh hiring of employees this year. There is total 1.5 lakhs vacancies in railways.
In the 2013-2014 budget, various trains will be launched
this year. So if the train increase, then staff should also increase. The railway has decided to recruit more than
1.5 Lakh jobs in all over
India
this financial year for various staffs.
Almost half the jobs will go to the reserved categories,
which is again seen to be an exercise driven by political necessities. Of these
1.52 lakh vacancies, 47,000 will be filled by the Scheduled Caste and Tribes
and the physically challenged, Rail Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal announced on
Tuesday.
The railways 10 years ago had almost 16 lakh people working
for it, now it is only about 14 lakh which are reducing gradually even trains
and work load increasing slowly but surely.
The recruitment process has already started to recruit 47000
staff in more than 60 cities in all over India.
The launch of new trains and services is the major factor
for the recruitment drive in addition to 1 lakh retirements this year resulting
in more jobs. But with nearly 14 lakh employees, railways is already the
largest employer in the country and accounts for around 40% of the central
government workforce estimated at 34 lakh during the current financial year.
